Wedding Crashers Cast: Where They Are Today

This is what the stars of this David Dobkin's popular R-rated comedy film are doing these days.

2005 marked the release of Wedding Crashers, a film that was largely responsible for putting the R-rated comedy genre back on the map after a number of years. This was the fourth film directed by David Dobkin and had Steve Faber and Bob Fisher serving as writers. Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn star in Wedding Crashers as John Beckwith and Jeremy Grey, two friends and divorce mediators with one common passion: crashing weddings impersonating other people in order to get free booze and seduce women without making commitments. When they hear that the U.S. Secretary of the Treasury William Cleary's daughter is getting married, they set out on a mission to sneak into the event unaware that it would change their future forever, as one of them is about to fall in love.

Wedding Crashers was highly acclaimed by critics and became one of the most iconic films in both actors' careers. To top it off, it performed brilliantly at the box office, grossing over $288 million worldwide on a $40 million budget. Dobkin's film became a classic within the comedy genre and endeared itself to audiences to the point that, even today, people are still waiting for a sequel. And while buzz about a new installment has been swirling around for years, nothing has been officially confirmed.

Besides Wilson and Vaughn, the cast of Wedding Crashers features some of the most acclaimed stars in the film industry, who are still relevant to this day and remain involved in hugely popular projects. Here's what the cast is doing these days.

Owen Wilson is John Beckwith, the guy who turns the wedding crashers dynamic on its head after falling in love with Claire. By 2005, Wilson had already starred in several interesting productions that positioned him as an industry star, but following Wedding Crashers, he landed some of the most memorable projects of his career. Just a year after the release of Dobkin's film, he was cast as Lightning McQueen in Pixar's Cars, a role he reprised in several sequels and other productions in the franchise. He was later featured in films such as Night at the Museum, Marley & Me, and Midnight in Paris, among many others.

In recent years, Wilson remained as active in the industry as usual, amazing audiences with his versatile performances. In 2022, he co-starred alongside Jennifer Lopez in Kat Coiro's rom-com Marry Me, and earlier this year he was seen in the films Paint and Haunted Mansion, the remake of Eddie Murphy's 2003 film that was released just a few weeks ago. Furthermore, Wilson joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe to play Mobius M. Mobius in the Disney+ TV series Loki, starring Tom Hiddleston, the second season of which debuts on Disney+ in October 2023.

Vince Vaughn rounds out the starring duo as Jeremy Grey, who was initially unwilling to embrace love, but ends up crushing on one of William Cleary's daughters. Just like Wilson, Vaughn had already been in the industry for several years, and his roles in Swingers and The Lost World: Jurassic Park back in the 1990s had made him a force to be reckoned with.

After appearing in Wedding Crashers, he went on to join a number of film and TV projects, while also launching a podcast production firm called Audiorama. Among Vaughn's most popular ventures after Dobkin's film, it is worth mentioning the 2013 movie The Internship, where he once again co-starred with Wilson, the horror comedy Freaky and the second season of HBO's True Detective. He is also expected to star in the TV series Bad Monkey and in IF, an upcoming comedy film directed, written, and co-starring John Krasinski.

The actor who plays U.S. Secretary of the Treasury William Cleary is one of the most acclaimed personalities in the entertainment industry, boasting a career dating back to the 1950s. Over the years, Christopher Walken has mostly been involved in film productions, although in recent times he moved back to television, much like his early days in the industry. In 2021, he joined the main cast of the English crime thriller comedy show The Outlaws, an Elgin James and Stephen Merchant production that is currently developing its third season. A year later, he landed a role in Severance, Dan Erickson's TV series featuring Ben Stiller as co-director.

Although the actor has been very active on TV in recent years, he has not been spotted as much on the silver screen. His latest roles so far came in the 2020 films Wild Mountain Thyme and Percy, although he is expected to make a comeback in the upcoming sci-fi film Dune: Part Two, due this November.

Just a year before playing Claire Cleary in this David Dobkin production, Rachel McAdams rose to fame thanks to two films that, to this day, remain among the most iconic productions in her career: the teen comedy Mean Girls and the romantic drama The Notebook. After starring in Wedding Crashers, McAdams reunited with her castmates in many other film projects: she appeared alongside Wilson in Woody Allen's Midnight in Paris, joined Vaughn in the HBO series True Detective, and starred with Bradley Cooper in the 2015 film Aloha.

In recent years, the actress was mostly active in film, starring in productions across all genres. In 2020, she was spotted co-starring with Will Ferrell in the Netflix film Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga and, two years later, she reprised her role as Christine Palmer, Stephen Strange's love interest in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. McAdams' latest film to date is the comedy-drama Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret., which was released last April to great acclaim.

Isla Fisher had been working in the industry for just over a decade before joining the cast of Wedding Crashers, but it was her role as Gloria Cleary in this production that earned her critical and popular acclaim. As a result of her breakthrough, she went on to land increasingly challenging roles in all sorts of films, and continues to do so to this day, although she also serves as a talented children's author.

In recent years, Fisher has not been as active as she once was, but she was still spotted in a few projects, such as the 2021 animated film Back to the Outback and the recently released Strays, in which she co-stars alongside Will Ferrell, Jamie Foxx, and Will Forte. Last year, Isla landed her first major TV role after playing Rebel Alley on Arrested Development as the lead star and executive producer of Wolf Like Me, a show that has already been renewed for a second season.

Jane Seymour has been working in the industry for over 50 years, and it seems that she has no intention of stopping any time soon. The actress, who also made a career out of writing and established her own foundation, is still active in the industry to this day. After starring in Michael Budd's 2021 drama film Ruby's Choice, Seymour landed a role in Puppy Love, a movie starring Lucy Hale and Grant Gustin that is about to premiere.

She is also expected to appear in Irish Wish, a feature film starring Lindsay Lohan that will hit Netflix in 2024. But Seymour didn't limit herself to film roles: in recent years, she also starred in the shows Harry Wild, and The Guardians of Justice, an Adi Shankar production that premiered in early-2022. In Wedding Crashers, she plays Kathleen, who is married to the U.S. Secretary of the Treasury.

Bradley Cooper faced a similar situation to Isla Fisher: he had been acting in the industry for a few years, but the role of Sack Lodge in Wedding Crashers was the one that gave him the recognition he deserved. Four years after the release of this film, Cooper rose to worldwide fame by co-starring in The Hangover, an incredibly successful comedy film that kicked off a trilogy. Over the years, he managed to establish himself as one of the biggest stars in the industry, starring in productions such as Silver Linings Playbook and American Hustle, among many others.

In 2018, the actor launched himself as director with A Star Is Born, an acclaimed musical film that he also co-starred in alongside Lady Gaga. In recent years, Cooper also made his mark as a voice actor with the Marvel Cinematic Universe character Rocket Racoon, a role he has played in different films and shows over the years, the latest so far being 2023's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. In the near future, he is expected to headline the biopic Maestro as director, producer, and lead actor. He will also produce Joker: Folie à Deux, the sequel to the 2019 film Joker.

Mary Cleary is one of the many old ladies, played by Ellen Albertini Dow, who has almost 30 years of experience in the entertainment industry. This actress has appeared in some of the most popular productions in film and television, such as the shows The Golden Girls and Will & Grace and the movie The Wedding Singer, which became her most acclaimed project.

After starring in Wedding Crashers, Dow went on to perform in different ventures, although she mostly focused her efforts on films up until 2015, when she passed away from pneumonia at the age of 101. The final roles of her career date back to 2013, when she was spotted in New Girl and as part of the cast of Brad Coley's thriller film Frank the Bastard.

Will Ferrell is one of the biggest stars of the comedy genre, both for his performances and for the projects he has written and produced over the years. In this film starring Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn, Ferrell excels in an uncredited role as Chazz Reinhold, the man who taught Jeremy everything he knows about crashing weddings.

In recent years, Ferrell has been as active as ever, taking on roles in all sorts of productions. Just recently, he starred as the CEO of Mattel in Greta Gerwig's hit Barbie. Additionally, he served as producer on films such as Booksmart, Am I OK? and The Menu, among many others, and starred in the 2021 Apple TV+ miniseries The Shrink Next Door. In the near future, he will be producing and performing in the films Quiz Lady and You're Cordially Invited.

Rounding out this list is Keir O'Donnell, who plays Todd Cleary, a character that remains among his most popular parts to this day. Throughout his career, O'Donnell has landed supporting roles in a number of popular productions, like the films Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and American Sniper and TV shows such as Fargo and Ray Donovan.

Over the years he has diminished his parts in the industry, and was only featured in the 2020 thriller film The Dry and, two years later, in Michael Bay's Ambulance. However, it seems that this actor's journey is far from over, as he is currently working on the upcoming film Marmalade, which will mark his directorial debut and feature Joe Keery, Camila Morrone, and Aldis Hodge.
